Job Title: Animal Experience Attendant (Part-Time Seasonal and/or Regular)
Schedule: Must be available weekends and weekdays, any time between 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. up to a maximum of 25 hours/week. Some holidays, school breaks, and some evenings for scheduled events.

We are looking for positive, outgoing, and confident individuals to facilitate the various animal experiences throughout the zoo. This position includes working our Climb for Condors mobile rock wall, giraffe and barnyard feeding stations, and California Mining Experience. Attendants at each station perform a variety of tasks such as: cash handling, handing out lettuce or cups of pellets for guests to feed giraffes or barnyard animals, demonstrating climb on Climbing Wall as needed, harnessing in and monitoring guests on our climbing wall, ensuring that guests understand and adhere to all rules, ensuring their safety; as well as educating our zoo visitors on our amazing animals and conservation stories. Team members are also expected to assist in other assignments across the zoo as needed..
Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Outgoing personality with positive attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Must be personable, friendly, and able to firmly establish and enforce rules as well. Background in Biology/ Zoology or prior experience in education and interpretation preferred. Must be responsible, strict adherence to and enforcement of rules is crucial. Must be able to climb at the top of the 26’ climbing wall at least four times a day.
Compensation: $11.00/hour, or DOE
